# Slack notifications

> Send scan alerts to a Slack channel with an incoming webhook.

The Slack integration posts a message to one Slack channel when something important happens in NoScope. It uses a Slack incoming webhook, so NoScope can post to that channel but cannot read your Slack messages.

## What NoScope sends

* A scan finished.
* A scan failed.
* The agent needs your input in the [Agent Hub](https://docs.noscope.com/agent-hub/agent-hub-overview.md), for example an approval request.

The same events are also sent by email.

## Connect Slack

**1. Create a webhook in Slack**

In Slack, go to Apps, then Incoming Webhooks, then Add New Webhook. Pick the channel that should receive the alerts. Slack gives you a URL that starts with `https://hooks.slack.com/`.

**2. Open Integrations**

Open the **Integrations** page in NoScope and click **Connect** on the Slack card.

**3. Add the webhook URL**

Paste the URL in **Slack webhook URL** and click **Save**. NoScope only accepts valid Slack webhook URLs. The card then shows **Connected**.

## Disconnect

Click **Disconnect** on the Slack card and confirm. NoScope stops posting to the channel. You can also delete the webhook in Slack.
